The first-ever Media Fest was organized today in the Ahmad Hall of the school. The event was hosted by the Media Studies Department and witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of host school, Delhi Public School Srinagar, GGHSS Zadibal, GBHSS Soura and Birla Open Minds International School.
The fest brought together budding filmmakers, storytellers, and media enthusiasts to celebrate creativity and critical thinking in the field of media and communication. The event featured the screening of student-made documentaries and short films, showcasing a range of thought-provoking themes and innovative storytelling styles.
The occasion was graced by eminent guests including Dr. Suhail Ahmad, Head of the Department of Mass Media, Government Women’s College MA Road; Mr. Huzaifa Pandit, Assistant Professor, Mr. Tariq, CEO Associate Media and representatives from the Cyber Police Station, Kashmir.
The guests shared their valuable insights on media literacy, digital ethics, and the growing impact of media in shaping young minds. The representative from Cyber Police emphasized the importance of cyber awareness, discussing the various dimensions of cybercrimes and the need for responsible digital behavior among students.
In the filmmaking competition, Delhi Public School Srinagar bagged the first prize, while Green Valley Educational Institute secured the second position for their impressive creative work.
The Media Fest proved to be a remarkable platform for young media learners to express their ideas, refine their skills, and engage in meaningful discussions about the power and responsibility that come with media.
