Today, the Atal Tinkering Lab (ATL) celebrated World Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Day with the aim of raising awareness about the importance of intellectual property in today’s innovation-driven world. The event was organized to inspire students to appreciate and protect creative and innovative works, reinforcing the role of IPR in education, research, and entrepreneurship.

The program was graced by the esteemed presence of Dr. Zahid Afzal, a respected faculty member from the Department of Electrical Engineering, NIT Srinagar, who attended as the Chief Guest. His presence added great value and significance to the celebration.

The event commenced with enlightening addresses by the esteemed Chairman, Principal, and Vice Principal of the institute. Each of them emphasized the growing relevance of intellectual property in academic and professional spheres, encouraging students to actively participate in the culture of innovation and originality.

A series of thought-provoking and well-researched speeches were delivered by students on various aspects of intellectual property rights, showcasing their understanding of patents, copyrights, trademarks, and the ethical importance of respecting intellectual work.

The highlight of the celebration was a guest lecture by Dr. Zahid Afzal, who delivered an engaging and insightful talk on the pivotal role of intellectual property in fostering a spirit of research, innovation, and entrepreneurship among students and educators. His lecture provided valuable guidance on how young innovators can protect their ideas and transform them into impactful contributions to society.
