Marking World Book Day 2026, the Library Department organised a vibrant programme centred around the theme, “Go All In – If You Are Into It, Read Into It.”
The event featured array of activities, including speeches, debate on Physical Books vs E-Books, musical performances of famous writings and engaging book reviews presented by students.
Students also paid a homage to renowned writers such as Dr. Harivansh Rai Bachchan, William Shakespeare and Rehman Rahi.
Dr. Abdul Majid Baba, Former Head, DLIS and University Librarian, KU was the Chief Guest of the event. In his address, he highlighted the need for students to stay focused in an age of digital distractions.
Chairman M.Y. Wani also graced the occasion and appreciated the enthusiasm and participation of students. In his remarks, he underscored the importance of inculcating a daily reading habit among students. He was joined by all others in school leadership.
The programme concluded with student authors of G.V.E.I sharing about their books. The event was coordinated by the school librarians, Ms. Safoora, Ms. Insha, and Ms. Anam.
